Does the TT finally shed its Golf roots?

XCAR reviews the third gen TT and its good. But is it worth the money?

Here is my issue with the TT, the one you want is $50k. The TTS has a (est.) base price of fifty thousand dollars here in the U.S. For that you get 310hp and a 0-60 time of 4.9 seconds.

For just about the same money ($54k) you can get a C7, with 460hp. Or if you want a driver's car the Cayman ($52k) with 275hp will undoubtedly handle better. But maybe you want AWD, well this same power train is in the Golf R just for quite a bit less money.

That leaves the TT with it's interior, and quite frankly it looks lovely. But is it worth it?

Beautiful review but the thing i love most about this car is the interior. I find myself excited by the little gadgety things like the climate control and the virtual cockpit. It's Audi at it's finest

So its worth it then. I want to see climate controls and virtual cockpit to make it to the rest of the range personally. That interior in a newer/sleeker A5? Yes please.

Audi has the intangible "thing" that BMW used to have back in the late 90's. I have a subscription to Car and Driver and I don't think an Audi product has lost a head to head test in almost three years. While the 'Vette may make more power, and the Cayman can post better lap times, and the Golf R is cheaper for just about the same drivetrain, when you look at the entire package, in terms of interior and drivetrain quality and most importantly, easy access to its performance capabilities due to AWD, the Audi comes out on top.

This reviewer irritates the hell out of me. Seems to be reading off a script. Doesn't ever seen to have a real original opinion of the car.

Must be some CEO's kid who is funding this channel.

I WISH my dad was a CEO. He's not one of those at all.

Apologies for annoying you.
